The Gap in Automated Manufacturing
In traditional manufacturing environments, workers may use pen and paper, NetSuite's user interface, or handheld barcode terminals to record Work Order activity. In highly automated facilities like pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and food and beverage, that approach isn't ideal.
When automated equipment and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) run the entire manufacturing process, there may be no workers to report what's occurred. Work Order activity goes unrecorded or its recorded after the fact, and NetSuite falls out of sync with your actual operations.
RF-SMART's Automation for Manufacturing Reporting bridges that gap by keeping NetSuite accurate and up to date, even when no one is present to record.
How It Works
RF-SMART Automation for Manufacturing Reporting uses automated RF-SMART workflows to capture and post manufacturing activity to NetSuite in real time. These are the same certified workflows used in manual barcode scanning environments, configured to respond to equipment and PLC signals in place of worker input.
When a manufacturing process is completed, the equipment or PLC outputs a signal. RF-SMART captures that signal and executes the corresponding workflow, updating NetSuite automatically.
