CHALLENGE
After a failed WMS implementation left HABA with only 40% of promised functionality and no connection to NetSuite, they needed a solution built for growth, flexibility, and operational control.
RESULTS
With RF-SMART WMS and Shipping, HABA went from operational chaos to a scalable, fully integrated warehouse, completing implementation in three months and successfully navigating their first peak season on the new platform.

The Challenge
Prior to implementing RF-SMART, HABA operated on a legacy system built around their 70% B2B business. As the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated a rapid shift toward 90% B2C eCommerce, their existing infrastructure could no longer keep up. Choosing NetSuite as their ERP, the decision for a WMS was less straightforward. With shipping bottlenecks creating the most immediate pain, HABA prioritized finding a solution with strong transportation management capabilities, and in doing so, underestimated how critical the warehouse management piece would be.
Key Issues:
- Failed WMS Implementation: Between being down for an entire week and fighting through major issues for the next two months, HABA's implementation went far from well. Over the next two years, 50-60% of promised functionality was never delivered.
- Zero Configuration Autonomy: HABA's legacy system was extremely hard-coded, leaving them with little to no autonomy over their own environment. Every configuration, no matter how small, required going through the vendor's engineering team.
- Disconnected Systems: The biggest pain HABA experienced was the system's complete disconnect from NetSuite. Because the two platforms operated independently, inventory discrepancies were a daily occurrence, requiring a dedicated team member to spend every morning manually auditing and reconciling across both systems.
- No Path to Scale: With a 30% year-over-year growth trajectory and peak season volumes approaching 2,000 orders per day, HABA needed a solution built for growth, flexibility, and seamless NetSuite integration.

The Solution
Their evaluation process looked different the second time around. Understanding that warehouse efficiency depended on more than just a strong shipping platform, HABA turned to RF-SMART to provide a comprehensive solution from receiving to shipping. Their initial implementation was scoped for early 2026, but HABA worked with the RF-SMART team to accelerate the timeline, kicking off in July 2025 and becoming fully operational by October 2025, just in time for their busy season.
With RF-SMART, HABA Toys:
- Eliminated Daily Reconciliation with Native NetSuite WMS: RF-SMART's WMS is built entirely inside NetSuite, so all inventory, orders, and fulfillment data live in one place in real-time, eliminating the need for daily manual reconciliation across two systems.
- Gained Full Configuration Autonomy: RF-SMART gave HABA the ability to add custom fields, build saved searches, and adjust workflows entirely on their own, without routing every change through an engineering team.
- Segmented Orders by Channel with Pick Planner: Pick Planner allowed HABA to segment orders based on channel, type, size, and shipping zone, prioritizing time-sensitive channels like Amazon and Target while strategically releasing lower-urgency orders based on warehouse capacity.
- Unified Pack and Ship in a Single Workflow: With the WMS, shipping platform, and ERP working together in the same ecosystem, HABA could pack, print, and ship in a single batch run from one screen.

The Results
After years of working around a rigid, disconnected system, HABA now has the visibility, control, and flexibility to adapt as quickly as their business demands.
HABA dramatically improved throughput, accuracy, and operational efficiency by:
- Boosting total tasks completed per hour by 75% and orders processed per hour by 50% within two months of implementation.
- Shipping 33,000 orders in just 14 days during peak season, a 30-40% increase over the year prior.
- Decreasing mispicks by 20-30% despite a 22% increase in order volume, a direct result of tighter integration reducing room for error across the workflow.
These gains enabled them to navigate their first peak season on RF-SMART with confidence. When unexpected order volume required an overnight pivot of their pick plans, the plans were adjusted, additional users were added, and the warehouse was back on track within a single day.
